About this course

The administration of medications & the monitoring of their effects on the patient comprise some of the most important & complex aspects of nursing (Baker & Napthine, 1994).

This course will be presented using the latest multi- media technology in a dynamic manner integrating physiology, pharmacology & patient assessment. For each group of drugs examined, the mechanisms of action, indications, dosages, routes of administration, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, along with the interactions & adverse reactions will be explored.

The latest in pharmacological agents will be presented along with the more common established medications.

If you would like to know more about the medications you are administering, then this course is for you.

This course has been endorsed by APEC number 080806016 as authorised by the Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA) according to approved criteria. Attendance attracts 12 RCNA Continuing Nurse Education (CNE) points as part of the RCNA's Life Long learning Program (3LP).
